Sharing my holiday gifts.

This is a little late, days continue to fly by, but in my last post I said I would share my Christmas gifts.  The best, of course was the visit with my son and his family, nothing will top that!

My daughter gave me a sweet miniature tea set in pewter, it is child size and I love it.  She also gave me a fabric Pug Dog, I have been wanting this little guy forever! I  also received from her a teeny-tiny ABC pewter doll plate.  I love all things related to dolls in miniature.

My hubby gave me two more game boards, which I hung in the kitchen over the sideboard.  I love wooden bowls and he added 3 more to my collection.  I also received a new dining room table, but this was a few days before my son arrived, I wanted a larger table so we all could gather around to eat.  One of my favorite gifts from him was a corner cabinet for my dining room, I LOVE IT!  And last, but not least a gift card to an antique shop where I found a little Putz sheep a wooden masher and small rolling pin. . .I am working the balance down to zero now!

My #3 son gave me a hand carved wooden spoon made by a student where he went to college. I received two reproduction colonial style dolls which I have admired for some time as well. I was also given a new nightgown and slippers.

With Christmas now a memory I have been busy moving things around the house to make room for my new treasures and putting away things that I will no longer be displaying, I put it in storage in our basement, I am not ready yet to sell or give it away. My upcoming project will be to paint the dining room chairs black and maybe one day way down the road replace them with ladder back chairs in black or windsor chairs.

The board above the shelf and the one in the right are new.  I had the black/gold one for years and the one on the left for a few years.

I also moved the furniture in the living room around. . .the blanket chest is now where the sofa was and the sofa where the chest was.  In front of the window is my “other” dining room table, which I moved into the living room.  It makes a cozy spot to drink coffee and look at my decorating books or CS Magazines!  All of this leads to spackle and paint and for now this is how it will remain, how long is for now, only time will tell!

But the very, very best gift was when my little grandson drew me a picture on a paper-plate and faces on two little white pumpkins I had saved from my fall decor. . .these gifts and memories are priceless!
