I want to get back to working on dolls, the last time I used my sewing machine was when my grandsons were visiting me. My younger grandson wanted me to make his stuffed animal a jacket to wear! Oh yes, then made a dress for a Raggedy Ann doll and now my machine sits and waits. . . .I have stuff cut out and waiting but I cannot seem to get truly motivated. Yesterday I thought I would sit down and stay focused, no, I did not start a doll nor did I finish one poor doll who is still waiting for her bloomers, instead I made a crow pin keep.
- I had the box so I covered it with Thimbleberries flannel fabric, sealed it and then sanded it
- I made the crow from black wool and the back of his wings are gray/black/white check wool
- He sits upon a little pin cushion I made from a piece of coordinating Thimbleberries homespun fabric
- The interior is painted in raw sienna and raw umber, shades of brown and gold and then sealed
And I love it! Primitive in style, fun and useful, I may keep it or sell it, I shall decide later, this was so much fun to create. I do not use patterns when I make my dolls or for that matter anything I make, I seem to have a hard time following a pattern and for me it takes the fun creative part out of it.
OK, now, I must work on dolls, after I finish with. . .? Still waiting for motivation!
