Happy Birthday to my “Little Girl”

Happy Birthday dearest Laura!

Born September 13, 1980

I have four sons whom I love dearly but my heart longed for a daughter.  On September 13, 1980 my prayers were answered.  I will never forget hearing the doctor say, “It’s a girl” and I kept asking “a WHAT”.  When I saw her I thought she looked just like my second son when he was born.  She was not a tiny little delicate baby girl, her nose was pushed to the side, she had a squinted eye and looked like a boxer!  Having four sons I could not wait to dress her in dresses, that lasted until she was about 3 1/2 and after that she wanted to dress herself in her brother’s clothing!  It was worse  when she made up her own fashions, I only wish I had pictures of them!  Whenever I could I would “dress her up”.  I would get the strangest looks when we went out but she was not going to let me change her clothes.  My little tomboy grew and each year she grew more and more beautiful.  I am very proud of my little girl, she has worked hard to achieve her goals and like most mother/daughters we have our moments but I could not wish for anyone more special than my daughter!

And even today she rarely dresses up, she loves to wear her old grey sweatshirt!  For fun I dressed her like Snow White, wait until she sees this!  He nephew said he wanted her to dress like a princess for Halloween when we go to Walt Disney World. . . yeah, that will be my excuse for putting her face in a hole and making  her into a princess!
