A little Edith Flack Ackley Baby Doll

Here are some photos of my newest little doll. Not a Raggedy Ann, but another one of my favorite dolls to make, this one is made using the pattern for a baby doll from the book Dolls to Make for Fun and Profit by Edith Flack Ackley, also known as EFA dolls. She is waiting for her other shoe and socks and a few little odds and ends and then will go on eBay.

These dolls are so much fun to make, and I always add the Martha of Jelliesjams twist to my EFA dolls, using the pattern and the techniques suggested by Edith, but making her mine.

I should be sewing her shoe now, but my hand is hurting from pushing that needle through the leather, so tomorrow. . . I have promised her she will be all done, with a few surprises. Stay tuned.

Hope everyone had a great day,

Martha

Martha! You make the cutest dollies! Hope your little hand feels better! You can use a tabletop or old book to push the needle through too. I just love her darling dress!

She is so cute! I have not heard of those dolls before, but she is a cutie. I can see how much heart you put into each one of your creations.

Martha,
Years ago I won an Ebay auction for one of your Primative Raggedy Anns and a teeny tiny EFA! It came with a valentine box and card too! I just LOVE them both. Do you make EFAs anymore? I'd love to commission one to be made (the little baby girl, like in this blog entry) It could be anything you'd like to do. Please let me know if this is possible - I know you are busy with your grandchildren now...
Thanks!
